JD for Capex/ Project Procurement role –

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Strategy:
    • Develop and implement key procurement strategies specific to capital expenditure needs in alignment with company goals.
    • Floating RFQs to approved vendors/contractors for getting offers to get evaluated & preparation of comparative statements with all major terms & guaranteed PGs.
    • Preparation of NFAs for approval & POs in SAP system with onboarding of vendor.
    • Close coordination with all key stakeholders (Internal & External) for timely resolution of disputes / requirements inline to Project.
    • Work with senior management to define Capex priorities within allocated budget & TAT.
    • Provide support/guidance on sourcing decisions to maximize value for the organization while maintaining quality and compliances.
  2. Supplier Sourcing and Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for Capex-related goods and services.
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms, delivery schedules, and cost control.
    • Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost expectations.
    • Conduct supplier audits and risk assessments as needed.
  3. Contract Management:
    • Drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts for Capex procurement, ensuring that all terms are in line with organizational goals and legal requirements.
    • Monitor contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Project Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
    • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., project managers, finance, engineering, and Site) to understand Capex requirements and timelines.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely procurement of materials and services required for Capex projects.
    • Provide procurement expertise and support to project managers for efficient project execution.
  5. Budget and Cost Management:
    • Preparation of estimates & market benchmarkings to ensuring procurement activities align with approved budgets.
    • Monitor and control Capex spending, tracking any deviations from the forecasted budget.
    • Report on procurement-related Capex costs and savings, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  6. Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all procurement activities related to Capex are compliant with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance, contract execution, and project delivery.
  7. Market Intelligence and Trends:
    • Stay informed on market trends, new technologies, and developments within the industry that could impact Capex procurement strategies.
    • Provide insights to senior management regarding market dynamics and potential opportunities or threats.
  8. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate procurement records for all Capex projects, including supplier agreements, contracts, and purchase orders.
    • Prepare regular reports on procurement status, savings, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Expertise in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
    • Strong project management skills, including budget management and cost control.
    • Familiarity with procurement software and SAP Ariba system.
    • Analytical skills to assess procurement performance and make data-driven decisions.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
