Job Description – CCR Operator

Position Overview

CCR Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the Cement Mill and Coal Mill during shifts. The role ensures smooth, safe, and energy-efficient plant operations while coordinating with cross-functional teams for maintenance, quality, and instrumentation issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and control Cement Mill, Coal Mill, and Blending Group during the shift.
• Ensure operation of all systems at defined levels of energy efficiency.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams to resolve operational issues.
• Maintain and update shift log reports with accurate operational data.
• Prepare and issue stoppage notifications and maintenance requests arising from operations.
• Participate and contribute in shutdown activities as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
• Ensure LOTOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out, Try Out) procedures are followed during stoppages.
• Implement and adhere to safety standards, ISO requirements, and plant SOPs.
• Report and book abnormal conditions/notifications promptly.

Authority

• Approve LOTOTO requests for all departments from the CCR.
• Issue work permits as per standard procedure.
• Deploy and engage manpower in Mill area as per operational requirement.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Cement Plant operations (Cement Mill, Coal Mill, Blending).
• Familiarity with DCS/CCR operations.
• Good understanding of energy efficiency, safety systems, and ISO procedures.
• Ability to analyse operational issues and coordinate cross-functional solutions.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Awareness of LOTO/LOTOTO and permit-to-work systems.
