 responsible for managing day-to-day jetty operations, ensuring smooth vessel and barge movements, coordinating clinker loading activities, handling customs documentation, and maintaining efficient logistics operations. The role requires close coordination with shipping agents, port authorities, transporters, customs officials, and internal production teams to ensure timely and cost-effective cargo movement.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and supervise all jetty operations related to cargo handling.
Arrange and manage barge chartering activities, including negotiating with barge operators and ensuring vessel availability.
Coordinate clinker loading operations while ensuring compliance with loading plans, safety standards, and turnaround time.
Liaise with shipping lines, port authorities, stevedores, and marine service providers for smooth vessel operations.
Prepare and verify shipping documents, cargo manifests, Bills of Lading, and other logistics documentation.
Handle customs-related activities, including import/export documentation, customs clearance, and compliance with statutory regulations.
Coordinate with Customs, Port Health, Marine Department, and other government agencies for timely approvals and clearances.
Monitor cargo movement, stock reconciliation, and dispatch schedules.
Ensure compliance with port regulations, environmental norms, and safety procedures.
Track vessel schedules and coordinate berthing, loading, and sailing activities.
Maintain operational records, reports, and MIS related to jetty and logistics operations.
Resolve operational issues related to cargo handling, vessel delays, and documentation.
Coordinate with internal departments including Production, Procurement, Commercial, and Finance for seamless logistics execution.
Optimize logistics costs while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency.
