Purpose of the job:

  • Ensure compliance of IQP parameters.
  • Ensure the quality parameters of limestone, iron ore, Sweetener, Bauxite, various types of gypsum, coal, AFR & ARM materials, kiln feed, clinker and cement as per quality plan.
  • Implementation of short, medium and long term strategy to meet customer's product quality expectations at Optimum cost.
  • Quality control effectiveness monitoring for the processes in the domain of job responsibility.

Job Description:

H&S

  • To ensure implementation of safe working practices
  • To ensure smooth functioning of departmental
  • safety sub-committee and review the same.
  • To monitor and review safety performance to
  • achieve the zero accident goal.
  • To provide necessary resources and plan for
  • improving the safety in the work area.
  • Responsible for implementation of Integrated policy.
  • Responsible for OH&S objective and its implementation.

 

Product Quality:

  • Review & ensure the quality parameters of Product, raw materials & fuel, AFR & ARM. and cement as per quality plan.
  • Ensure compliance of IQP parameters.
  • Implementation of short, medium and long term strategy to meet customer's product quality expectations at Optimum cost.
  • Responsible for internal control effectiveness monitoring for the processes in the domain of job responsibility

LAB ACCURACY:

  • To ensure equipment calibration, lab testing accuracy, lab repeatability and  implementation of QCIP guidelines.

Man power efficiency Improvement:

  • To ensure development of departmental work force for updated competency for achieving current level of performance and business targets.
  • To identify the areas of improvement for the work force and prepare and implement the action plan.
  • To facilitate training identification & implementation.
  • To approve technical specifications of raw materials   and  product i.e. iron ore, Bauxite ,Sweetener, gypsum ,  coal , Limestone ,raw meal, clinker and cement through raw mix optimization.
  • To inter-act with various suppliers / vendors for finding new products, services for technological up-gradation or cost effectiveness.

Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensure regulatory compliance of laboratory activities regarding product and lab equipments.

General Co-ordination and productivity enhancement:

·       To attend meetings, discussions etc, at various forums for the matters related to :a) Production   b)  Plant performance improvement c) Safety  d) IR     e)  Quality Systems, cost review  etc. for achieving targeted level of performance for the plant through ensuring the implementation of the above in the department.

Product Development:

·       To set up and conduct the necessary experiment to develop new product  as per  need of  M & S.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • To take all appropriate action to ensure that customers do not receive out of specification product.
  • Handling of customer complaints .

Product Quality :

To ensure the  product quality  ( clinker and cement)   meet s  customer  requirements..

Ensure quality  of raw materials i.e. iron  ore ,river sand ,gypsum and coal and Fly ash  in line with production plan.

Cost Reduction:

To ensure the additive & limestone  consumption in raw mix and  cementations consumption in cement as per   ABP. (Coal consumption in clinker is shared responsibility with production department)

Lab Testing Accuracy:

Implementation of quality control guidelines  of Technical center & Improve Lab testing accuracy implementation of QCIP.

Increase in man power efficiency:

  • To ensure smooth function of department and healthy IR relations.
  • Organize and manage dept. human, Financial and equipment resources.

Productivity enhancement :

  • To facilitate and ensure the implementation of plant performance activities ( shared with other departments).

System Improvement:

  • To ensure implementation of QMS, EMS & OHSAS systems in the department.
  • Contribute to the conception ,acceptance and integration of new equipment and installation

Statutory Compliance:

  • To ensure statutory compliance.

Safety :

To ensure zero accident in the department.

 

Qualification:

M.Sc. (Chemistry)
