Job Description (JD):

  • Supervise the mechanical maintenance activities of the packing plant during the assigned shift.

  • Ensure continuous and smooth operation of the packing machines, belt conveyors, rotary packers, truck loading systems, etc.

  • Monitor the performance of equipment and take timely preventive or corrective actions.

  • Coordinate with electrical and instrumentation teams for integrated maintenance work.

  • Ensure proper shift handover, logbook entries, and report breakdowns and maintenance done.

  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and consumables.

  • Handle breakdown maintenance efficiently to minimize downtime.

  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and standards.

  • Train and guide technicians and contract manpower.

  • Maintain 5S and good housekeeping practices in the packing plant.


Key Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance in rotary packers, belt conveyors, air slides, bucket elevators, packing machines, and loading systems.

  • Hands-on experience in preventive, breakdown & predictive maintenance.

  • Familiarity with cement plant processes, especially in packing & dispatch operations.

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems quickly and effectively.

  • Knowledge of basic hydraulics and pneumatics.

  • Understanding of ISO, safety, and quality systems.

  • Good communication, team coordination, and leadership skills.

  • Basic knowledge of SAP or other CMMS systems preferred.


Experience & Qualification:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience:

    • Diploma: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in cement plant packing section.

    • B.E./B.Tech: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in similar role.

  • Prior experience in a cement manufacturing company’s packing plant is mandatory.

  • Experience in handling a team of technicians and contract workers is preferred.
