Purpose of the job:
- Shift In charge is responsible for CPP shift activities along with emergencies in operation, delegating tasks to team members, ensuring optimized running of plant, safe execution of tasks, tracking of critical parameters, and resolving problems that occur on their shift.
- This role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of the power generation and waste heat recovery systems, managing the shift team, and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Job Description:
- Lead and supervise the operations of the CPP/WHR unit in the Power Operation Department during the designated shift.
- Conduct shift briefings, communicate operational goals, and delegate tasks to the shift team members.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the shift team, including control room operators and field operators, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards during shift operations.
- Coordinate with the production department to meet the power and steam requirements of the plant, ensuring uninterrupted supply.
- Theoretical & analytical analysis of Boiler, Turbine, WTP and CHP parameters & efforts to improve & sustain individual equipment efficiency.
- Calculations and understanding of combustion, Rankine cycle, Energy, SHR, SFC, SSC, Boiler efficiency and overall efficiency etc.
- Understanding of water quality/chemistry, the importance of periodical cleaning, soot blowers operation etc.
- Monitoring of all the running Boiler parameters on DCS, Emergency handling, black-out, Boiler startup/shutdown operation and maintenance activities.
- Delegating tasks to the shift members.
- Handling all the emergencies, support and guide CCR Desk Engineers and Field Operators for the same.
- Taking reports from Desk engineers and Field Operators of their respective area about running parameters and any abnormalities in the field and instructing operators as per requirements, Checking Field log books on a continuous basis.
- Preparing shift reports as well as day reports, SAP data entry and report generation.
- Maintain accurate records of shift operations, including production data, process parameters, maintenance activities, and incidents, for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Adherence to safety norms, Ensuring manpower safety, knowledge of SOPs, Risk Assessments, LOTOTO procedures etc.
- Ensuring TPM/AM activities are being done with compliance on a continuous basis.

Qualification:
BE/ B. Tech with BOE certificate.
|
Experience:
Minimum 8 years relevant experience.
|
Key Differentiating Skills:
Troubleshooting and analytical skills, TPM, Calculations of SHR, SSC, Boiler Efficiency etc, BOE/ BEE.
