Qualification
  • Degree / Diploma in Mining Engineering
Certification (Mandatory)
  • Valid Second Class Mines Manager Certificate (Restricted to Open Cast Mines) issued by Directorate General of Mines Safety Experience
 
Key Responsibilities
1. Shift Operations Management
  • Lead and oversee all shift mining operations including drilling, blasting, excavation, and dispatch coordination.
  • Ensure achievement of production targets with desired quality parameters.
  • Manage day-to-day mine planning and execution aligned with short-term and long-term production goals.
  • Supervise HEMM deployment, utilization, and productivity optimization.
2. Safety, Statutory & Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols with a goal of zero harm operations.
  • Comply with all statutory regulations under DGMS, IBM, PESO, SPCB, CPCB.
  • Ensure readiness for DGMS, IBM, PESO, and other regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Enforce environmental norms and sustainable mining practices.
3. Drilling & Blasting Management
  • Implement best practices in drilling and blasting to ensure optimum fragmentation and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor explosive consumption and ensure safe handling as per statutory norms.
4. Planning, MIS & Reporting
  • Prepare and maintain MIS reports related to production, safety, and equipment performance.
  • Track KPIs and implement innovative ideas to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collate operational data and generate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
5. Cost Control & Budgeting
  • Assist in preparation and monitoring of mining budgets.
  • Ensure cost-effective operations including fuel, explosives, and equipment utilization.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization measures.
6. Team & Stakeholder Management
  • Supervise and manage manpower deployment across shifts.
  • Maintain coordination with:
    • Shift supervisors / Charge Hands
    • Logistics team for dispatch planning
    • Site administration for operational support
  • Ensure effective communication across departments for seamless operations.
7. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
  • Identify and implement CAPEX projects to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Promote innovative practices and challenge existing methods for performance enhancement.
8. Production & Quality Coordination
  • Coordinate with QC lab team to ensure product quality meets market requirements.
  • Plan operations to achieve consistency in quality, quantity, and timely dispatch.
  • Notify management of any risks affecting production or customer commitments.
